I am hoping for tomatoes by the 4th of July and this fall I will have nice cabbage as it looks pretty good right now. Have a few pepper plants looking pretty good too...might do some salsa making and canning again this summer if I have enough tomatoes! That works out great for hot nights to have salsa, chips and cheese.

Man, I wish I knew how to crochet. I'd love to make stuff for my chickens and dogs!

Ashley!! Hey!! Wow, it's really easy and there are alot of dog sweater patterns...the chickens, now I'm not too sure about chickens wearing the latest crochet fashion, lol!!!

Ya'll non-crocheters..get the hook and the book from Walmart and check out the tutorial at crochetcabana.com and LEARN!!! You will be sooooo hooked!!!! It's very relaxing, makes super gifts at Christmas and looks great to add a sense of cozy and warm to your house!!! Easy!!!

Salsa is not too hard either with my pressure canner. Maybe mid summer when everyone is harvesting veggies we can do a canning thread and post some recipes. I am terrible for not measuring an just throwing things in a pot and tasting with a spoon!! I will try to help as much as I can though. I looked for banana pepepr plants at Lowe's the other day, found none, but found something that had a spanish sounding name on it (which I promptly forgot!!) that LOOKED like a banana pepper so I got that that...hope they aren't 6-alarm, LOL!!!

That salsa, with those "Scoops" chips and that already cubed cheese at the grocery store is a whole meal alot of hot summer nghts for us!!!

well ladies here is a pic of my half way finished project with my granny squares, I am making me a large purse,( because with 2 kids and a hubby, you tend to need a larger purse to hold all your stuff and theres two, ya know when their littles hands get tired! ) I am working on the inside pannel and the 2 straps, I have enough square to make me and my 2 girls purses. I made mine with bright green and orange, so as I can find my purse in this messy house, but the girls decided on light pastel pink for the older and bright purple for the younger. I have also finished that monkey and made the younger one a monster I have to upload those pics later and will post them too.

As for salsa my hubby makes a great salsa and we jar is and store it in the cabinat and it makes it get really good and hot. but ya know he never makes it the same way twice so I will watch him the next two or three times he makes it and write down all the different ways he does it and post.

I love the bright green and orange that you crocheted for the sides and bottom. Did you list that stitch in this thread? I'll have to go check. If not, please let us know, b/c it looks great.

Did I understand that you are lining it w/ more squares or did you buy fabric? Just fabulous! Thanks for sharing!
