Hi everyone,

My vote is for Christmas colors. I would love to have a Christmas afghan, but I ok with whatever the majority wants to do.

I have a question. Does the 6 inches include one round of single crochet as the last row or do we just stop at a double crochet/chain round? Well, maybe two questions. If we have more than 20 sign up, do we still crochet 20, or as many blocks as the number of people that sign up?

I am so looking forward to this.

P.S. I may be a New Egg in number of posts but I have been at BYC(the original) for 4 years.

How long does it take to make a 6 inch granny square? I may need to start right now to have 20 ready by the first of November!!!!

And Scrambled Egg...I wasn't sure if you were blessing me for having the courage to post those pictures or for taking the time to do it with dial-up!

Just kidding!! I know the work in the first pic was terrible, but I can't do everything right the first time!

Getting the tension right and figuring out how to check the gauge is going to take some practice. Then I will have to figure out how to follow a pattern.

I do enjoy doing it, though.

I guess if we are choosing a theme I would vote for the scrap bag bonanza ...keeps people from having to go buy yarn..although that is a treat for me, lol!! Also, I have squares already started that that would work for me but I will certainly do whatever the majority decides.

It is very fun,, i just taught myself to crochet

I made 3 squares that I was practicing with fall colors because of the fall swap so I will go with either autumn leaf theme or scraap yard bonanza

If we are voting on themes........I vote for Autumn leaves, scrap yarn, or cozy cabin. I have no idea what autumn leaf or cozy cabin is, but it sounds good...... fallish.

Leepsy, the 4 year old newbie!!...I think only some folks did that SC around the edges of the last ones, you use and H or maybe even and I hook and just do 4 or 5 rounds and they will come out to 6". I hope everyone does measure though as lots of them were a bit off on the sizes and that is fine until you try to put them together in one project.

To get a square from every person we would need to, of course, do as many squares as the number of people that sign up. Mawchikkade is setting the rules this time and I think she did say 20.

These are the ones I have been working on lately...they are cotton worsted weight yarn and I am really loving the weight and feel of working with it, plus it makes such a nice shaped square!

These Christmas colored ones are acrylic worsted weight and Leepsy, they do have the SC edge (I stole that idea from Mangled!!! Her squares were so cute!!)

It's cool & rainy here today, so I was trying to find a new pattern granny square to try for the fall swap. I just can't seem to decyfer the patterns.
