I made these , from leftover chicken wire

They hang all over the garden, so I can put them over plants before mower will be used.
But still have my long stick by the shed and I have to use it every time when the mower is in the use.

I may have to rig something like this up here.

I bet it works!

I got a post card in the mail yesterday about an Arbor day seedling sale at the University of Idaho's Pitkin Forest Nursery.
Their website is www.uidaho.edu/seedlings if anyone is interested the dates for the sale are Fri. April 29-Sat April 30 9am to 1 pm. I bought some of their American Plum trees and they pack the seedlings very nicely and they were already sprouting when they got here.

Thank you chickadoodles!

Ufff I got alll wet pulling out creeping charlie from my strawberries. Its growing like crazy everywhere where I don't want it.
The rain came finally.
Your welcome.
I have that stuff growing every where here. our cows will it the mess out of it. hehehe but it comes right back.
Sorry you got all wet. Going to rain here for the next couple days.

That stuff makes up the bulk of my lawn! Horribly invasive. I can't tell if I find the smell of it agreeable, or obnoxious. Guess it depends on my mood at the time. Have you noticed that there are NO bugs that eat it???? I think it would make a good foliar spray to confuse garden pests, and dried, it might be a good aromatic to put in the nest boxes, or even in deep litter to discourage mites and such.

You just invented a new bug repellent! 100% organic! Patent it quick!

I bet it would work wonderfully. I might try some.

I like creeping charlie (Glechoma hederacea), how it grows in the areas that nothing else will grow.
And it has lots of uses. It is used in liver problems, asthma, bronchitis, and on wounds, lichens, acne. (and more)
It is mixed with other herbs to make a brew.
And it looks pretty too. And you right lazy gardener - no bugs will eat it. But when its young we can eat it in our salads or soups.

Well, aargh, it seems I got booted from the thread for not being active on it, but they can't get rid of me that easily. Trying a few new tricks in the garden this year. I've kept the carrots covered with cardboard to try to increase germination. Not sure how that's going. A few are up but I think there should be more. Peas are up! And spinach, lettuce and radishes are beginning to take off here in the far north. Been putting mounds of pine needles in the raspberry bed and still have tons more to rake up. Great exercise out in the warm surroundings. And you all are an inspiration!
