Peanuts! Horrray for peanuts. I tried them two years ago no success. But my apple tree is crazy. I see so many apples in such tiny branches. Have no clue how its gonna hold them all.

I hope they don't break your tree branches.

I only pollinated a few blossoms so that they would not be to much for my young trees. My large pear tree is loaded with pears. I love making pear preserves.

Typically, especially with a young apple tree, the crop needs to be thinned so the heavy load will not damage the tree, and so that the remaining fruit will develop some good size.

Good morning/day to all. Back to garden. Am beating off weeds and squash bugs now. But had to post garden update & some flowers.

Lovely delicate peach color!!

Quote: That was Dan's pic. I was just letting him know it was beautiful.
I do not have any Gladiolas I think they are very pretty. I even bought some for my daughters.
Here is a pic of one of my beds planted with bulbs. I need to thin my beds out again the bulbs are so packed it's crazy.

Just starting to bloom.
Love your "lawn". Some day Ill have this much green... until then Im envious. Green with envy. lol

Firey!

Tomatillos flowers.

I enjoy all flowers---this one is unique. Love it.

Here is the type of dock I use . Very large leaves . Can get 6 foot tall or more . Currently about 4 foot . This one is not bitter when small . I never tried them at this stage .
FUnny how my view has radically changed......good weeds are all around us.

I got a post card in the mail yesterday about an Arbor day seedling sale at the University of Idaho's Pitkin Forest Nursery.
Their website is www.uidaho.edu/seedlings if anyone is interested the dates for the sale are Fri. April 29-Sat April 30 9am to 1 pm. I bought some of their American Plum trees and they pack the seedlings very nicely and they were already sprouting when they got here.
Thank you.

I like creeping charlie (Glechoma hederacea), how it grows in the areas that nothing else will grow.
And it has lots of uses. It is used in liver problems, asthma, bronchitis, and on wounds, lichens, acne. (and more)
It is mixed with other herbs to make a brew.
And it looks pretty too. And you right lazy gardener - no bugs will eat it. But when its young we can eat it in our salads or soups.
definitely gotta look this one up.

Frugal tip . I bought a 4 pack of tomatoes . Cut the tops off above a leaf . Potted the cuttings . They will wilt . Keep in the shade and warm . Within a week they will perk up . Meaning the cuttings have rooted . They will catch up with the originals . You loose a few days but they grow fast .I potted the originals into solo cups also . In a couple of weeks I will plant them in the garden .
lol the red cups help tomatos too apparently.. the catalogs are carrying red everything from plastic film to drip/watering pans..... I use these same red solo cups. VERY easy to sork with. perfect size.

Thanks, I have my fingers crossed.

That's cool. We have some farmers around here that plant peanuts once in awhile.
We live right down the road from a lot of peanut farmers, this year most planted corn.
