My uncle has date palms in flower right now and do you know what are all over those flowers? Bees, lots and lots of bees

Even though they say that birds and bees aren't attracted to the flowers, I wonder if that is just because they are being grown in an unnatural environment here in the states, therefore there are different birds and insects here vs in other parts of the world where the trees grow naturally. That is nice that you have bees, lots and lots of bees! We need those bees, so keep them coming!

Yeah I think it probably has a lot to do with that.

Jealous of all the fall garden pics. I recently had double hernia surgery so it put a damper on my gardening plans this year. I'm excited to get a few greens to volunteer but for the most part, my garden is just a sea of oat grass which will die off when the first real frost hits. Any of my Texas peeps out there think it's too late to get some seedlings in the ground? If so, I guess I'll just dream of Spring crops and warmer days.

I haven't tried sticking cuttings in the ground now but I have stuck them in the ground in late winter and in april and I have had a good amount of success with it. (Figs Plums pomegranates hibiscus pineapple guava) I stuck some in a tray with water back in october and those are starting to root. You could probably get it to work

i bought some forsythia earlier this year. in the package was a bunch of rooted cuttings and a couple 3'' unrooted cutting. I just pushed the unrooted ones into the ground and every one of them grew
