We got the plants transplanted into the grow bags today and watered them and parked them in the shade to recover. I will put them in the pool in the morning.

Miracle grow potting soil, fish meal, bone meal, epsom salts, and organic fertilizer.

I cleaned out a rabbit cage so I could use some of his bedding in my plants.
Egg plant, straight neck squash in three bags, jalapeno pepper, cherokee tomato.

Awesome progress! Now if you'd planted seeds to get more plants on 4/28, they'd barely be sprouting by now. Excellent way to double your plants. Here's some food for thought: If one were to take some leggy seedlings, I bet they could easily get 3 plants out of them!

Nice to have rabbit poop. I picked up some stable bedding to use this weekend. It was full of goat nuggets, and horse buns.

Where are you moving to? What plant zone? With some protection, you should be able to grow lots of stuff. You might want to research: hay or straw bale gardening, square foot gardening. This book should provide lots of information to help you get started in your new location. He has lots of ideas about creating micro-climates that will be conducive to gardening. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/fou...sid=Google_&sourceId=PLGoP205&k_clickid=3x205
Yeah, I've got plenty of it too! I have found I think it works better as tea though.

That poor, wilted tomato stalk that broke a week ago is now a new, thriving plant! The bottom piece is doing well also. I'm not certain what will happen with my gardening, as we have made a rather sudden decision to sell the property. I'll just plant what I have going now and flex with the changes.

Wow. A move just as the planting season is getting under way has got to be tough. The house could sell next week, or it could sit on the market all summer. No stress there, I'm sure!

We had clouds and rain almost for two weeks now. Yesterday it was warm and sunny and all the plants and flowers were in shock !
Everything wilted in the sun, and not only the new veggies , all of the old flowers I have and rose bushes everything was like - what the heck is that warm thing in the sky ?
It was like Transylvania for last two weeks.... Darkness, cold and rain. All we need is a vampires

Hah, right! I want to throw a tantrum and yell, 'I'm too old for this!' But it's in Papa's hands, and as long as I keep it all in that context, I'm fairly relaxed about it. I may need reminders from my support system about who's in charge of this whole affair. Getting ready for such a move seems mountainous, indeed.

Yes, facing a move would pretty much be my undoing. Do you have the needed army of volunteers to make it happen? Will you stay put till the house does sell? I have friends who have a beautiful homestead. They've had it on the market with many realtors off and on for a number of years, so they could move closer to their son. They finally gave up, took it off the market, and decided that God had other plans. The son was waffling in his job, and not sure if he planned to stay in New England, or move out west... Several weeks later, a realtor who had not been involved with this property called, and brought a prospective buyer. Sure enough, the buyer was legit, offered their asking price, and was very excited, had lots of plans for what to do with all of this beautiful land. They talked, prayed, and... turned down the offer!

Yes, stay put. As I've been here less than three years, I don't have that much-needed army, so it appears daunting at times. One step at a time. That seems slow, but it's the practical way.
