Where are they? Are they causing any damage? You can use a borax/sugar home made ant poison that is pretty safe. 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 cup sugar. Dissolve the sugar in the boiling water, then add 1 tablespoon of borax. Use it as you would Terro ant killer. Much cheaper to make and use!

So today has been a tomato day

This morning I planted out about 20 tomatoes cause it was going to rain this afternoon

And then we went to visit my grandma and she sent me home with over a hundred tomato seedlings (109 to be exact) that had come up in one of her pots.

I'm pretty sure they're a yellow cherry.

I am digging up the garden beds along the foundation of my house. Instead of flowers I am planting edibles. I have a 8 x 3 foot section complete with cabbages, runner beans and onions. I am still turning over other sections of the beds. It is clay soil that is half stones in places. I keep finding ant colonies under the bigger stones and sow bugs along the foundation sheltering under dirt clods that I had dug up the day before. One of these ant colonies have a trail up my steps onto my porch. I found an ant inside today. I have also spotted some slugs too.

Ants, I use the home made borax/sugar bait. Slugs: Sluggo, or escargo. Be sure it's the Iron Phosphate pellets without any added active ingredients. Sow bugs, I don't have issues with those. Do some research, and find out how much damage they do, before you invest time, money, and chemical warfare in eradicating them. Often, insects are not as damaging as we're led to believe.
