Thanks so much. I can't wait to try it.

I need more needles! They've all got something on them.

Hey y'all! I just tried knitting for the first time today. I"ve wanted to for years and my mom sent a couple needles home w/ my daughter today. So I learned to cast on... knit and pearl. How do you bind off though? I don't have a clue of what to do there. The book she sent didn't explain it.

Help!

Also.. how the heck do you remember the patterns on here. (k1, p1, k1, p1, k3, p1,...etc.etc.etc.) How do you remember where you're at? Oh geeez! What sort of addiction am I getting myself into?

I am knitting a blanket right now. I do not know who for yet!

Oh, and guess what!!!! My niece was over yesterday, she is 11 years old. Out of the blue she asked if I could teach her to knit since she wants to make a baby blanket. I told her sure and thought it would go the same as when I tried to teach my daughter, ya know do it a couple of times and decide you don't like it. My daughter who is 14 will not go near my knitting stuff. Anyway, I CO for her and then showed her the knit stich. After like showing her 4 times she took it and just started to knit!!!! She is now on maybe row 8 with about 50 stiches per row!! I was so excited. She just took to it really fast and is excited to try to get the blanket done before the baby she wants to give it to is born around January!! The best part is she then started talking about what else she would like to knit. She has future projects lined up!!!! I never thought I would get to teach someone to knit and pass my love of the craft on. Guess I was wrong. I am in a knitting high..........

I was always taught that if you CO in the slingshot method of casting on then it was counted as your CO and first row knit. If you CO any other way it is just a CO and does not count towards your knit row!

Sorry have not been online a lot and have pages in this thread to read!

Here is a pair my mom just finished for my aunt..Moonlight socks..Gotta have me some of those too! She made them with Caron Soft on #5s with 44 stitches. You can find this pattern if you google "moonlight socks. They are great and the pattern is super easy, hold ur hand, step by step. Same person that makes Pure and simple sweaters came up with this one.
