well I think I have been lurking in the shadows long enough.. its time for me to ask if I can be a part of the club? I LOVE to knit in the winter. in the summer up here its just to short and there are too many things to do. but I get to knit for 9 months durning winter so..... its about time for me to pick the needles up again... the leaves are falling off the trees and its cold outside...

So I have been knitting for about 10 years. I knit both continental and american. (or european and throwing.) I consider myself a intermediate knitter. if I dont know how to do a stitch I can figure it out since I have lots of friends/ aquantances who are knitters and YOUTUBE!!! I really like doing knit alongs... but my goal this winter is to make myself a cardigan. I have all the yarn, the pattern and the needles.... I am just terrified to jump into it...so I need to stop procrastinating and get it started.

Ok I hope to be active in the knitting club this winter!!! and thanks you guys!

I like to knit also. I'm knitting a shawl right now as a break from knitting hats for my grandchildren for winter. I can make one in two evenings while watching TV. They're a simple ribbed hat for boys or girls determined by the color. I've made 6 so far and still two to go, both for babies, one a boy and one a girl. I'll add a pom pom on the top of theirs. I've been knitting of and on since I was four. My mother taught me as a little girl while we still lived in England. I have my mothers knitting needles(English sizes of course) and her knitting patterns that date back in the 40's. What is everyone else making? I love those chicken hats......

I'm knitting an afghan right now to match the new colors in the living room, green and brown. I'm using size 15 needles and it's going super fast.

LaSomba, I notice you're in WA. Cold winters up there. My daughter lives in Tenino and it's lovely up there. I've been to see her twice since she moved. My shawl is coming along. We leave on a trip Wed. am and I'll take it along for something to do when my DH visits his family.

Well, it's all relative. Some areas are colder than others in the state, also. Where I'm at (Sou-west WA), it doesn't get too bad. It's just that never-ending winter rain that's so depressing. I moved here from Ohio and, too me, it seems like easy winters here. We do get some cold spells here and there, though.
