BYC KNITTING CLUB

Pics
Just came across this thread this week. Thought I'd share a picture of the knitting that I do. This is a purse that I made for a very dear friend for her wedding last November. I am currently working on one for my sister-in-law that is in blues - from the lightest icy blue to Cobalt.

Absolutely beautiful. How long does it take to make this? What type of needles? I am a very, very new beginner. I could never see myself being able to create such a beautiful item.

I have never tracked the actual time it takes to make one. I squeeze in between all the other chores. But it does take time and some patience. The needles are 0000 thinner than toothpicks.

I'm only an immediate knitter and I think that once you master good control over tension then you would be able to make one of these without much trouble. Here is a great website to check out. I get a lot of my patterns from Barb.

I just started knitting last summer - I've only done simple bags, hats, and plushies so far. This one is, by far, my favorite:

The ducklings LOVED it - they would snuggle with it and climb on it - I finally had to take it away from them when they began preening it and pulling out the stuffing!

Thank you so much for the info.....

I didn't even know about this hobby site! So much to learn about the BYC. I love knitting but when you put it down it can be months before you take it back up. So glad there is a club on here. I lost my group over the summer when we weren't sitting together waiting for the children in ballet classes. I hope this thread is still going and will post some of my finished pieces soon.

can't wait to see your pics when you post them.

I've been going hat crazy, knitting hats, hats and more hats. I'm also working a wedding shawl, just because I spun up some bamboo and was going to make socks with it, but I thought it too pretty to hide in shoes. So it is just a shawl, not for a wedding, but that is what the pattern is called. I am also crocheting a doily for a lady up the road.
