BYC members in Massachusetts?

There used to be a Wellness factory in Chelmsford that I would go get open bags cheaper. Then they moved or something.
My danes were 195 and 140 and the Raw ended up being cheaper :) Read the book, they have it in local Libraries.

HI @chickencheeper Essex is a big area, I am in Bedford near burlington/lexington.
WELCOME !

Wow I had no idea there used to be a factory here!

And WOW those are big dogs! I thought Gator was big but small compared to them. Actually that reminds me of when I was watching the national dog show on Thanksgiving and they had the working group on. There was a Dane right next to the Mastiffs. I thought Mastiffs were big dogs but they looked TINY next to this horse! LOL the Dane towered over them.

And thanks, I hadn't realized it could be cheaper. I'll look into it :)

Hi everyone! Hope all is well. I don't want to derail the topic, but I am looking for someone in western/central Massachusetts who would like to share a baby chick order from My Pet Chicken in spring 2018. I have a a small coop/run and am looking to only add 3 bantam chickens to my existing flock of three. But the minimum for my area is 5 mixed or 6 bantams. Any one interested please let me know. I would be more than happy to deliver their babies to them. :) Here's a pic of my three girls and their coop.

Hi and Welcome! There is no single "topic" here so ask away :) I am not interested in splitting an order but Im sure there are other who would be. I mostly buy local now. I had a horrible experience that I wrote about somewhere here on the boards when all 17 of my baby chicks died when a big chicken place decided it was ok to ship my chicks right before a huge blizzard was coming even though I asked them to delay shipping. It was horrible. I don't mean to be a downer and many, many people have their chicks shipped with great success. Also I wanted to say you have some pretty girls there:love

Finally bought the beef yesterday (got the other ingredients a week ago) so I made the satin balls. Though we more made kind of loafs/rolls. We just made a bunch of shapes ha. Took a lot of sandwich bags.

Anyway, he liked the scraps I threw him so I'm thinking he'll like it :)

It took a lot of meat.

I just bought the rolls at BJ's. 73% lean, 27% fat. It was $12.99 for 5 pounds. I thought it said $11.99 but I must be wrong and $12.99 is still cheap. So yeah. I got 2 rolls so 10 pounds.

Are your current girls bantams? I've read sometimes the smaller, gentler bantams have a hard time integrating with standard size chickens who can pick on or harm them. I would try adding standard size breeds or have a separate bantam coop.

HOWEVER.

Some people have no issues.

But you need a lot of space
