BYC members in Massachusetts?

Those are great options, I hope you rehome them.:fl It was extremely hard for me to rehome my cockerels locally. The farm sanctuaries and shelters were full beyond capacity. I was able to rehome 4 with a local breeder 25 minutes away. I still have one, trying to keep him.
I hope so too! It's always hard with cockerels, because some people can't have them or don't want them, and those that do already have boys. I'm glad you found someone to take yours.

Has anyone heard a “rumor” about a chicken keeper in the Framingham area thinking her birds died from the avian flu? I lost a chicken the other day but I reported it to my ACO because APHIS was already gone for the weekend. My other chickens are fine so not likely the flu. There’s been nothing reported in Massachusetts in several weeks.

Does anybody have any Orpington hatching eggs, or know where I can get any? I found a breeder on the Cape but she says her hens aren't ready yet, and I have a broody right now that I want to give eggs to... But I only want Orps...

I've not heard that.. and hope not ! Keep an eye on your flock, do you have ducks too? Are you near a pond that ducks and geese go to?
I have a pond at my work and there are geese and ducks, so I have to now take off my shoes when I get to my car and bag my work shoes because I am afraid of bringing it in !!
Let us know if you hear anything else.
you can also call the Dog officer and see if they have heard anything

I haven’t heard anymore about this rumor. I did have a scare myself when I found one of my pullets dead in their run. This was Friday a week ago and I tried contacting the Aphis office in Boston but they shut down early. I ended up contacting my ACO. She told me that there was no confirmed Avian flu in our area. Sometimes chickens just drop dead. I buried her. The rest of my chickens are just fine and very healthy looking. She also told me it was ok to let the chickens out to “free range” in their chicken yard.

Hi everyone , I’m looking for a male Indian runner duck or any duck that just lost their bonding mate.
Our family unfortunately lost our duck to a hawk attack and our other duck has been very distraught without him!
I’m in the Bristol county area and hoping to find someone near us!
