I'm not from that area in Ma. But I know people on Craigslist are selling chickens. Maybe someone close to you might be selling them. Sweet meadow farm supply in Sherborn Ma sells them. Here's the number 508 650-2926. The older they are the more they charge. You also have to buy a minimum of two chickens, they don't sell just one. I know it's not close to you but it's a better alternative than Craigslist. At least you'll know what you're buying at Sweet Meadow Farm. I hope this helps you. : )Anyone else new here in the MASS thread ?

Sweet Meadow has a lot of chickens & roosters that live there. I think they incubate their own eggs, but I'm not certain. They have horses, goats, bunnies and chickens. I love going there, it's very welcoming and they sell their own produce. They have all kinds of feed, and items you'd need for farm/backyard animals. I get my chicken items & food there. Check it out sometime, I think you'll love it. : )Nice to know !! I will have to see where they get them from (hatchery or loacl breeder) but will mostly wait till next Spring and buy older. I only need 2 more to make 6 so that is perfect.
If anyone is looking for CHICKS, Tractor Supply in Leominster has a TON. and they are adorable

Thank you!I replied over on that thread for the poster.
For anyone looking for a vet who will see chickens, there is Littleton Animal Hospital. Their avian vets and facilities are more geared to exotics but I know of no one else who see chickens. Not cheap though.
