Hi All,

I just joined BYC this morning. My chickens and I live in Bucks County, PA in the small borough of Ivyland. Per ordinance, we are allowed up to 5 hens, no roosters. I started with chickens about 4 years ago. We have a small circle of life in our backyard. We feed and care for the chickens, they give us eggs, poop, and eat backyard insects. Poop and dirty nesting hay goes in the composter, then in the garden the next spring. I plant the garden and the chickens eat the leftovers. We sit in the backyard, and watch our mobile lawn ornaments at play.

Right now, I'm down to 2 birds, so I am looking for some more starter birds. I'm interested in the larger dual purpose breeds, but friendly. Currently have an Auracana, and a Buff Orpington. Looking for red-sex link, wyandottes, or marans.

Hi! I live on Jacksonville Rd, across from the borough, looks like we're neighbors!
You're 'down' to 2 birds, wondering if the fox got them? We seem to have a few in the area and that is my main concern.

oh...just seeing this is from 2019... :)
