What do you do with broody hens?

1. Leave them without eggs until they stop
2. Take them out every day
3. Break them
4. Give them eggs within the flock
5. Separate them and give them eggs

What do you do when your chickens die?

1. Bury
2. Bin
3. Feed

1. I don' t think we have any Broody Hens at this time. We do remove the eggs daily.

What about, “How many different chicken, duck, goose, etc. breeds have you had?”

4 chickens, one rooser, two pekin ducks and two dogs. I am recently new to this group and loving it. Just don't have allot of time so catching up

We got our chickens in March of 2021, they started laying Sept 2021

Awww thats so sad! Some of my baby chicks died and I buried them (like 4 feet deep) and a raccoon dug them up and ate them

Aww Im so Sorry to hear that ! It really stinks to loose any pet...But for that too happen also is horrible. I also lost a Pekin Duck named Louise. I am new to having ducks and was misinformed about the food they require as ducklings (not enough Niacine) she became lame. I tried everything as she was my favorite but my German Shephard got her. I was so Upset. Still Miss Her. Buried her in a box so wildlife couldn't get to her as we do live on 36 acres very wooded. So far she is ok.

aww sorry about her too! the worst part is they’re my emptionsl suppport animals (sounds crazy but they have little vests and everything) so I was suoer upset about someone taking her. My dog grabbed one when they were young and I hit him (not hard but he dropped her, I felt so bad but I wasn’t about to let him think it was okay) and he ignores them bow and he’ll even let them around him but he won’t even look he just sits

That is Awesome you were able to discipline her I cannot get my GSD to listen to my around my chickens. She cannot get to them as they are in a very high fenced coop but she messes with them an tries to bite them thru the fencing. Any Suggestions ?
Also, being a new member, well from last year but I have little time to log in and catch up. I asked a couple of questions months ago but didn't realize I had to send to certain people. lol so I got no responses. Is there a way to send to everyone ?
