ok.... she gets picked on a lot so i don't think she is dominant... but she is like 3 or 4 years old....

Chickens need a brooder until they're about 6-10 weeks of age. So any aged chicks after that would probably be fine for you.OK now I have a question:
I am getting eight new chickens in may and would like to know at what age I should get them. I do not want to buy a brooder just so I can get them at a younger age so....
You would probably be best off getting some started pullets/birds. Started birds are sold by some hatcheries, and other people sell them too. They are often sold at near-laying age (around eighteen weeks). Getting started pullets eliminates any problems of brooding, heating, etc.OK now I have a question:
