So many of these comments say they were surprised by their nominations and selections. I know I was last go around. But I've noticed something about every name on that list and on previous lists - myself included - that makes me smile, and that's the fact that without exception the recipients are "surprised". You know what that means? That means they do what they do, whether it's passing on advice, maybe giving someone a gentle fanny chewing, welcoming new folks, or sharing humor without "expecting" anything in return. They do what they do because it's right, it's friendly, and they all remember what it felt like to be new. That's the real badge.
