BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

Thanks everyone. The photo doesn't really show the colors. Maybe I should have hung it and took the picture. It's for my youngest.

Here is one I finished last year for my middle son. He picked out the pattern and said he wanted patriotic colors. It took me two years to finish. I machine sewed the top and hand quilted it.

That is a beautiful quilt. I like the patriot colors. Sons are that way I guess. The son that I made my quilt for has been after me for about 2 years to make him another log cabin quilt. He doesn't know I've started this one. I'm going to machine quilt it so it will take a bit more abuse than hand quilting. I intend for it to be his Christmas present but might be his birthday present and Christmas.

Here is what I am starting on for myself and DH. I was wondering what y'all think about the color scheme. DH is partial to purple and I like the red with purple. I thought that yellow for the sashing and inner boarder would brighten it up some. I have dark green for the outer boarder.

baustin, thanks for the comment, you will have to post a pic of your sons quilt when you finish.

I like the colors and the pattern. Will post final pix after I do the backing and quilting. I'm going to stitch in the ditch around the logs and maybe some free motion quilting in the sashings.

Didn't go to town as planned due to the rain. It was just too yucky looking out and windy. I've started cutting out a scrap quilt that I saw on Quilt in a day called "desert" although my colors won't all be pastel.

hillbilly hen I love that quilt. Naturally I would since I am a red hatter and got lots of purple and red clothes!!!
