BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

Does anyone have a new twist on aprons and potholders? I don't know what I mean..... I need some new ones...plus, I've got an idea fermenting in my mind for ladies retreats...was hoping to get some ideas from Christmas.
Anything?

How about making some with images of their favorite hobbies or pets or flowers? Or if they have chickens, find some fabric with chickens on it and make them one out of that.

As far as the ladies retreats go, maybe something with the church logo or the Women's group logo on a pocket or frontspiece.

I'm making some potholders as Christmas gifts. They are nothing fancy. Here is the sample I threw together, so it's not very nice. I just wanted to practice one before I made the ones as gifts. I just made it up myself using the simple block I've been using for a lot of gifts.

The only thing I didn't do was put a little loop to hang them like store bought ones, but I might do that on the ones that I am trying to finish up tonight for gifts.

Thank you for the ideas....Sara...great potholder! I'm a big fan of quilts AND toile! Thank you.

Somehow I missed this...
Has anyone else noticed they don't get emails to topics (threads) they are subscribed to?

Thank you for the detailed pictures! Great job!

I don't have time to read this entire thread, or attention for that matter, but I thought I'd send along this idea.
I have been using cloth grocery bags for years, I think the original was a simplicity pattern, but it has been through many alterations. Anyhow, I have tried to talked others into using them but have not had much success until the cheapies have shown for $1 in grocery stores as of late. So, this year instead of wrapping presents I made cloth grocery bags and 'wrapped' the presents in those. I'll post once I get their reactions.
