BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

Wow Wildsky. Your kitty pillow is really nice. Was the bubble jet liquid difficult to work with.... as in messy, toxic, sticky, stinky, etc.?

Ive used the photo fabric that is already treated but not the do-it-yourself stuff.

Well, I'm suffering a head-cold, I couldn't smell anything so if it does smell its not strong at all.
I just poured the stuff in a dish, put the cut out fabric in and let it soak. Hung it in the bathroom to dry (poured the stuff back in the bottle to use again)
when the fabric was dry, I ironed it, and then ironed it onto freezer paper and trimmed it, loaded into printer and printed.
Let the print dry for 30 min, then washed/rinsed it and peeled the paper off and let dry again and iron.

I did a few extra sheets, I printed on one other one (family photo) and I have about 6 other sheets ready to go.

No real mess at all - I actually did the soaking in my sewing room on a desk.
Not sticky, its totally like water the fluid - as I said I can't smell too well right now, but its clear liquid, and felt like water as well when I took the fabric out.

Thanks for all the prayers surgery went great. Went in for 6 am and was on my way home before 11 am.

Thanks again. Moving slow but I know it will be better already.

Me tooo!! What an awful time to be sick. I didn't work on any of my Christmas projects until today. I'm done with 6, one more big one to go, and then some pot holders. I *might* actually get it all done. lol

Oh NO... so many folks have been sick. I'm so not in the mood for Christmas, I wish we could put it off for a week or two.
Hope you feel better sooN!

Hey ya'll, playing catch-up here. Was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night with a temp of 103. (my normal temp is 96.5). I had my chemo port flushed for the first time since surgery on Monday. 2 hours later the fevers started. When I started talking to people who weren't their and babbling, My husband said it was time to call the ambulance, especially when I started having spasams in my diaphram.

My experience in the hospital was one I don't want to repeat!!! I started out in ER. Thought the nurse was going to kill me. He blew 2 veins and I still didn't have any pain meds in!! Was moved to SICU for 2 days. Person in the bed next to me Coded and passed.

I was then moved to 6 South. Everyone on that hall had something "funky"!! Gloves, masks and scrubs were the norm for entering any room but mine. The guy at the top of the hall had a red sign on his door, "AIRBORNE CONTAMINATES--DO NOT ENTER WITHOUT BREATHING PROTECTION" I hate to tell ya'll but Christmas is going to be canceled. Santa is up on 6South. I don't know what he has but they go in there in what looks like a decontamination suit! They even put his sheets in a special bio-hazard box!!!

But I am now at home. They removed my port which is the site of the infection and put in a pic line to give me meds, etc... I have to give myself interveinous antibiotics until Jan 3rd. Will be back to a doc before then to have things checked out. Also having to do a Wet/Dry dressing on where my port was. My surgeon couldn't close the site with stitches because of the on going infection. It's fun sticking a wet gauze in a hole in your chest. NOT! I think when it heals I'm going to have the scare outlined and tattooed. From all appearance it looks like it's going to look like an eye, could be interesting.

I did manage to get the embrodrey on a few of my pink ribbon patches done in. They only have 11 stations on the tv at the hospital. 2 Sports, 3 news, 2 kids, 6 semi normal channels that have nothing on during the day!

Maybe now I can get things ready for christmas dinner!!

Oh gosh, Coyote Magic, what an awful week you have had, but Im glad that you are home and out of the horrors of the hospital. I hope that you recover quickly from the infection and feel better, soon.

Coyote~ You poor thing. Are you feeling better? I had gotten an infection after my stem cell transplant and had to do interveinous meds at home. They were in these funky little portable pumps that you could carry with you. I can't wait to get my port out, but now you have me nervous with your hole in your chest anaology

Sending good vibes for a speedy recovery!
