to all you sick ones. It's no fun being sick this close to the holidays. Or DURING the holidays for that matter, either.

I have a friend at church who is a Redskins fan and this is her Christmas gift. For this rag quilt throw it took me 7 1/2 hours from start to finish. Whew!

Thank you all. I'm feeling better than I was yesterday - so I think I'm on the mend, and Tuesday was just aweful, I was dizzy and could hardly get from point A to point B without looking like a drunkard.

I am working on a new cushion cover, FINALLY I got the Bubble Jet set stuff I ordered, I printed out a picture of our Cat that died in October, and I'm putting that in the center of the cushion.

Thanks for the compliments on the glass and quilts. If you have a chance to take a small glass class I would do it. I am 70 miles from the closest glass shop so I had to learn on my own. I started doing the glass as a stress release (from DH) but now my stress followed me to the shop. DH got tired of being in the house by his self so he has learned to do the glass work . Hope everyone gets to feeling better soon

wildsky---no, its not flannel. It's just regular cotton fabric from the dreaded "wal-mart" hehe.

I got a question....
I'm in the Navy and we have some dirty jobs. From time to time we order a "bail-o-rags" from the supply system. They are like torn up old clothes we use as grease rags etc...

I was wondering if "quilters" buy these bails to make quilts or do most of you collect scraps here and there to make them?

I make lots of scrap quilts, but I don't buy rags to make them. I save and use all of my fabric scraps from other quilts and other projects, except for pieces smaller than 1" x 2". Many quilters also buy clean, used clothing at thrift shops, Goodwill, yard sales, etc. and cut it up to make quilt blocks, then sew the blocks together to make the quilt. I have a friend who recently published a book based on the use of men's cotton plaid/striped shirts in quilt making. Our fore-mothers made their scrap quilts out of Susie's dress, Bobby's shorts, Grandma's old apron, and Grandpa's work shirts. I've saved some old dresses to make patchwork tote bags just because I really like the fabric.
