Hey there, Kassaundra! Never thought about a Dear Jane quilt - but just wanted to comment that seeing your name in the different forums always brings a little smile....like running into a friend here and there!Just curious anyone do or thought about a Dear Jane quilt?

I crochet, quilt, pick a little guitar and banjo (well, banjo not so much anymore) write and of course added the chickens recently. Don't know how I missed this quilt group before. I thought by now there wasn't a forum or thread I hadn't read!So anyway, hello to all from Northern Wyoming! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go back and start reading posts from the beginning so I can get to know some of you a little better.![]()

I can't copy and paste on byc for some reason google dear jane quilt and you will see. A large quilt made of about 150 or so 4.5 inch blocks surrounded by 52 (I think don't quote me on the actual numbers) triangle and 4 corner pies, all different not one is the same.Admittedly a bit embarrassed here, but what is a Dear Jane quilt?
On a side note, my mother died very unexpectedly in October. I had not been in her house in 5 years, so you can imagine my surprise to discover she was hoarding fabric. I estimated at one point there was not less than 5000 (yes, THOUSAND) yards of cotton quilting fabrics in her spare bedroom, which was floor to ceiling, wall to wall FULL of fabric and sheets. I took 10 contractor bags of sheets that I'd found before I even got to that bedroom, to the second hand store and found at least that many more when I started clearing out that bedroom. She crocheted rag rugs using old sheets.
I found several quilt blocks that she had appliqued and am planning a "Grandma's Sampler Quilt" for her 5 grandchildren. Mom would come up with a pattern for a quilt, make one block, and if she liked it, she'd make a quilt (or 50 - LOL), but never used that first block.
I have. I have the book and most rulers too but I think it is very hard to do. Some people have a special CD? I would like it if the blocks were paper piece. Are you thinking of starting a group?Just curious anyone do or thought about a Dear Jane quilt?
