Good idea Chel! It will pull the turquoise out from the center.

I quilted those lines. I wanted something not too hard to quilt the area with so I just drew out from the point sides.

Awesome mariners compass. My bedroom is done in lighthouses and sailing ships and I always thought a mariners compass quilt would go with the rest of it. Just haven't got around to it yet. I just started a quilt called Summer at Mom's. It's done in a pinwheel design and there's some appliqueing on it although I may not do it. I'm using left over fabric from all my childrens clothing that I made them from the time they were born until they left home. I had made a grandmothers flower garden out of the same material many years ago and gave it to one of my daughters only because she wanted me to leave it to her in my will. I didn't want her to hurry me to my grave so I gave it to her two years ago when her oldest daughter got married.

I just made a quilt for project linus out of all the left-over prints from when mom & sewed my sis' clothes... wow i forgot how bad her taste is. Neon penguins, flouresent fish, funky plaid, it has it all, but as a thin strips quilt it's a lil less funky.

I just finished a quilt top that when finished will go to our local women's shelter. I got the pattern from Quilt in a Day and it's called dessert but I didn't use the colors she did so it needs to be called something else. I got 3 packs of batting at JoAnne's on Monday at 50% off. One is for my son's log cabin quilt, one is for a quilt I just started for myself and the other I can cut in half and use for the lap quilt for the shelter and have another piece for another lap quilt. I also got two rulers I've been wanting at 50% off.

here is the finished quilt I made for my son for Christmas

It's all hand quilted as well

this one is a top I created with some blocks of different sizes that I purchased for $12.00 off e-bay and a whole lot of scraps that were piling up on me. It will end up a king size quilt.
