Two of my girls made Flying Geese using the great kit Terri sent us last year and brought over their results today. I just got a chance to look and discovered they didn't take the same fabric! One made hers last weekend and one made hers during the week. They all came out great, but do you think the colors would work together? There are 32 of the pinkish ones and 48 of the reddish.
I think they are fine together. Are they going to be used as a flying geese border or part of a block? Tell the girls, great job..my flying geese still come out crooked, no matter how careful I am. But, theirs came out perfect. (pout)
I was just going through this thread from the beginning and found thses!! The pie one with the plastic rings is almost like the one I tried to make last weekend but a lot easier!!
We were just going to sew them together into a line with a solid color between them. The kit Terrie Lacy gave the club has a video, patterns and a special ruler to use and makes the Geese super easy! Thanks again to Terrie!
I think they would be fine together, but if you have any doubts I would take one of each to the fabric store and find a piece of fabric that has both dominant colors in it, and use that fabric in the quilt to tie the colors together.
I'm going through our fabric and seeing what I can come up with to go with it. I'm not sure the larger pieces we have are the right colors, but around the middle of February we can get more that might work out better!
I almost have my quilt top done. I just need to sew the corners but that can wait till tomorrow. DH, bless his heart, said that all the little imperfections is what makes it unique. I guess it is a very unique quilt then. I was having issues with double vision while doing this so I guess it could be worse.
