I have camel in my fiber stash, but it's only a couple oz so I'm looking at things to blend it with, or to ply it with and haven't found that 'perfect' fiber yet.
I've spun buffalo - actually starting with raw buffalo. A friend and I were able to find at least 6 different 'types' of fiber on that single buffalo. A LOT of work it was, but oh-so-beautiful!
I'm spinning an off-white cotton/silk blend right now. It will be plied with a multi-colored cotton for sock yarn.
The Ashford Traveller (DD, DT)was my first wheel. Love, love, love it!
My next 2 wheels are antique, (one Saxony, the other a walking wheel). Both are in working order, but I don't spin on them much.
Ashford Traditional was the wheel I got to teach spinning with. I eventually sold that to one of my students.
My main wheel is a Kromski Sonata DD with a WooLee Winder. Wouldn't trade it for the world!
I have a jumbo bobbin for the Traveller and use that to ply with and to spin bulky yarns.
