BYC Spinning Fiber

Your Dad does great work! Are you Amy or Rebekah?? Can't wait until the technical information is posted. This is a direct drive wheel, isn't it??? Does it have different ratios??

Are you girls on Ravelry?? The wheels would get a lot of exposure over there

I'm Rebekah. Amy or my dad are the best ones to talk to about the wheels - I started with a drop spindle and spinning wheels are a new world for me. It is a direct drive, and does have different ratios.

That would be fun to come to Eugene :) We're in Port Townsend, WA, and it's a little hard to get away from the chickens, but you never know!

Hi Rebekah! So are you the one with or without the bangs?? LOL!!

Chickens are easy to get away from when compared with a lactating animal!!!

Let us know when the technical info gets on the website, okay?

Thanks!

Sans bangs - I had to check though! I would love a lactating animal! - specifically a dexter cow - but my husband would go crackers.

I haven't read the back pages on this thread, I'm curious to know if any or all of you own sheep or goats for fiber, and what you do with all the stuff you spin. I'll go back and have a snoop now. :)

ETA, my dad and Amy will be posting technical info tomorrow. And thanks for the Ravelry tip! And I'm going to read up on carding fleece after seeing the gorgeous alpaca wool here.

I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to get on for a couple days. My sister Amy built the website, and she said she'll get a video up of the spinning wheels in action really soon.

Oh my gosh, those wheels are amazing!!!!! I would love one. The prices look very reasonable, too. Time to start saving money!!!

I spun this up this afternoon. I like the way the colors came out. It's hand dyed Romney plied with a grey (white and black) sheep wool blend. I don't know what that grey is (I bought it wholesale as simply "sheep wool") but it is so nice to spin with!!!!!

Ooh, that's beautiful yarn! Did you dye it yourself?

Amy said she put up a video of the wheels on the technical info page.

MullersLane, I just looked at your website briefly. That's really nice that you share your hard won lessons. You must be busy people!
