Good luck, Mark. This is hard, but you have people standing (or sitting) behind you. I'm glad your uncle got a lawyer. I'm sad that he had to do so.

The next time the police officer neighbor is sitting out front, call the police and report it. Say there is a strange man sitting out front with binoculars and you think he is trying to peek in the windows. Tell them you are scared and feel threatened by his presence. They won't press charges against their coworker, but his superiors will have to talk to him about it. When I hear these stories about bad police officers, it makes me very thankful for our sheriff's dept. They are all good eggs.

Hey how close is your Uncle to this man.I know sometimes they are trying to keep their dogs from getting cocidous or soemthing else I can not remember whta it is called.But if he don`t have any puppies,it will be ok.But it sounds like he is causing trouble.Stand up for your rights.Is this man in a housing development???? I am glad he has a lawyer...

Very glad to hear things are going as well as can be expected. After I commented I thought
Uh oh, the cops know the judges that hand out the warrants, so thats not good for your Uncle.
Funny thing is this just happened last week in my neighborhood, too. Guess someone was sorried a dog was too cold outside. The neighbor who had the SPCA come did show them around and in the house..showed them where she kept her food. They basically told her now that they had investigated if anyone else complained they would tell them it had been looked into and there was no animal abuse.
I think sometimes people are just worried the animals arent getting proper care, but clearly there is something else going on with your situation.

of the officer sitting out there.

For safety sake, his commander should know what he does.
go down to the station and speak to the commander
in person..tell him you fear for you life with a person
that carrys a weapon.And acts so strange.
better yet since your uncle has a lawyer have him aware you both fear for your life he will record it.

Contrary to popular belief
ASPCA, nor any other organization may enter your property and look around with out a signed "search warrent" stating specific reasons for the alledged visit.
IF they entered and asked to look around and permission was granted then all bets are off,
first response is
" Get a SEARCH WARRENT"
this harrassing cop should have known this, after all he is the " supposed Law"
You DO NOT have to allow these people on your property, even with complaints with out a specific search warrent, it is YOUR rght to demand one.
By making an issue of a search warrent you are leaving a paper trail to the harrassment.

Mark, tell your Uncle to tell them on their next visit NO you may not come in and look around You MUST get a Search Warrent.
previous permission is revoked right then and there.
eta: if they continue on and look around anyways, you have legal rights to call the police and have them arrested for tresspassing. all you need do is tell the police you revoked permission and asked for a search warrent ,they( the police) have to comply and ask them to leave , if they refuse then they must be arressted.

REMEMBER PEOPLE ITS YOUR LAND ,YOUR ANIMALS, YOUR RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY.

At this point in their 'game' I wouldn't just yet say that 'you fear for your life' it may cause 'eye rolling' I would say that you are greatly concerned about the cops behavior. Do take pictures as suggested to back up your allegations. Good luck!

I just found this thread and agree DOCUMENTATION is your best course. Document even what seems to be a tiny little thing. Make them get court orders to even come on your uncle's land.

That is really creepy about him sitting outside with binoculars. Do you know anyone on the city or county police force? Sounds like harrassment and stalking for sure.

That is wonderful that your Uncle got video of him doing it. Y'all might need to invest in a camera for the front that shows the road where he usually stops. He might be coming up there at night, even. You really don't know how often he is watching your Uncle's house, you know? I think you can pick them up for $30 or so. Then, have your lawyer file a restraining order and get him for harrassment. This is just crazy. I really feel bad for you and your Uncle. I am glad he got a lawyer. Please keep us updated. I would think about getting an investigative reporter involved. If it is on TV and shows this police officer stalking you, the police force will have to take action.
