I hope so! I've named it Flapjack and I'm already attachedHappy to hear the last chick hatched! It's always great to be finished.
That's unfortunate the chick is having difficulty. Hopefully, it will come around.![]()

Sadly it didn’t.The 7 wasted no time.
How is the last chick? Hoping that it makes it out ok.![]()
One thing you could try for the chick is livestock/poultry electrolytes. It may involve some math to break it down into smaller mixing amounts than what is suggested in the instructions. They're fairly inexpensive to try. It's come to my attention how incredibly important electrolytes can be for both humans and poultry. Electrolytes help to ensure the correct messages get sent throughout the body for proper function. This can affect the heart which can affect everything. It's 2 am and the neurological chick is still spinning and flipping but it's fluffing up nicely. I set up a separate brooder so I can monitor it
Thank you! I gave it some nutri-drench because that's what I have on hand now but I can get some electrolytes to try later todayOne thing you could try for the chick is livestock/poultry electrolytes. My spouse was experiencing heart issues; atrial fibrillation and ectopic beats. Electrolytes have currently resolved these. (To specify, it was human electrolytes for my spouse, not livestock electrolytes) I've corrected two chicks with curled toes with electrolytes. Livestock electrolytes tend to also have additional vitamins and minerals which can help address any other possible deficiencies. Electrolytes are the first thing I administer for any sign of neurological issues or birds under stress.
Here is some information on the role of electrolytes and how each one works in the body. This is from a fitness site, but it's one of the clearest explanations for the role of electrolytes.

Partly my fault. The egg shouldn’t have been incubated. Yolk wasn’t at all ready for him to have pipped. Veins everywhere. Lucky he didn’t pop one when he internally pipped.Oh, the wee fluff.
That's unfortunate.
You can use a feather duster, small stuffed animal, or a mirror for company. My brooder was too small for most items so I gave duckie an Easter egg critter and a dishrag. He cuddles with it and is quiet and content.I don't think the other 2 will hatch
The chick keeps peeping and peeping. It is warm and everything but I think it's lonely.
Should I get it more chick or should I wait till the Faverolles are due to hatch? (in around 2 days). It is breaking my heart hearing it peep all day long![]()
I do have most of those objects minus the stuffed animal. Another chick hatched yesterdayYou can use a feather duster, small stuffed animal, or a mirror for company.
