October 10th is the start date for chickens to hatch on Halloween. Still plenty of time.

Silkies were a lot of fun. Such attitudes from little birds. I gave mine to my neighbor.

I hear such good things about silkies! Im trying to get my hands on some but cant find anywhere that people dont sell six or so at a time, which is a bit disappointing

I got my eggs from a friend that had been storing them in a cardboard box. Why the box I don’t know but there were about 40 eggs varying in age. I picked the best 6 I could find and got 5 chicks. They were naked necks which makes for quite the look on a small chicken.
