BYC's 2021 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along!

I’m expecting 12+ Serama eggs in the mail the 8th. I usually let my shipped eggs sit for 12-24 hrs. Does anybody think letting them sit until the 10th would be a bad thing?

Ok cool, I didn’t think an extra day would hurt but I know fertility goes down after about 10 days is what I’ve been told. Seller has been collecting since last Monday

Fertility can drop after 10 days but I’ve not seen a significant difference overall in my experience. I would err on the safer side and set after resting 24 hours. You would still have a probability of some hatching Halloween.

I purchased a dozen "mystery eggs" that could have any mixture of different pure Brahma, Orpington, Wyandotte and Cochin but they didn't ship this week like they were meant to and will arrive after the 10th, so they won't count now.
I do however have some of my own eggs incubating, 5 lighter eggs are showing development so I'll collect a bunch more to put in on the 10th, fertility is random in that pen though.

Wow! That's interesting!

One of the wild pigeons laid an egg on the shop door and it almost landed on my head when I closed it, That's the closest to pigeon eggs I've been.
