BYC's most spoiled chicken contest! Ends Oct 30th!

Where the heck would we start? We have 92 of the most spoiled pampered chickens. Most are hand trained. Some will climb all over us when in their pens. Every time we walk out the door they all think we are bringing them treats. We pop fresh popcorn for them every day. We sit and visit with them at least 6 times a day. We rotate hens in and out of the breeding pens so that no one hen ever gets over worked. We pull weeds and rake leaves just special to give them. Of 92, 57 are named. I keep expanding their pens so that they never feel crowded. When we drive in the driveway, they will all start cackling to welcome us home. We dress some of them in costumes. They all get their nails trimmed regularly. We have inlaws that drive miles just to bring them fresh grass clippings. They get all the leftovers from meals. We have 5 that insist on going to visit grandma. They all get tucked in every night. We are constantly changing things in their pens to make them more comfortable such as their nesting boxes. Some come in the house and run around. Some get to go for walks. We have two guard dogs to protect them from predators. We have 4 that like to have their sides tickled. We have a huge Delaware roo that loves to be snuggled. We have an Ameraucana roo that is in love with my wife and will even do the mating dance for her. We have constructed 4 broody pens specially designed for quiet and comfort so they are not disturbed when setting. So this truely is The Pampered Pullets Farm.

This is Romeo he's 2 years old. I hatched him from some eggs given to me by a friend at work I had no idea what they were from he said for me to keep the bantams that hatched and out off all the bantam eggs he was the one to hatch. I had no clue what he was had to do some major searching ( I was way new to chickens at the time) Finally found out he was a Brown Leghorn Bantam. This has to be the sweetest rooster ever!! My DH fell in love with him from the begining and I had to do some major searching to get him some eggs to hatch him some "girlfriends" figured if he was here to stay he might as well "earn" his keep. He loves to be held. As soon as you pick him up He crows. He always does the "sideways strut" at me (hince the name romeo). Right now he is helping his too ladies raise some lil ones. He's so careful with them. I went out just a lil while ago and him and his ladies are in a nest box with babies underneath!! so sweet

Pampered... I am so glad that I got the 'good one'. lol

Last night I turned around and there is DH with Errol in the kitchen again (!!!) wanting to know if there was anything he could give him for a treat.

He ended up with a mandarin orange slice and a mashed up sweet tater....

Even the kids shake their heads over this... lol

I think its awesome! My DH wouldnt do that if his life depended on it. Its bad enough that brooders are set up for hatch times-in our big bathroom. Or the fact the duck lived for the first 2 months of his life in our tub! He is partial to the little cochins-outside though:-( I wondered if I get little diapers he would let them roam the house?? hmmmm

Name: Clucky
Age: now 1 year
Breed: Cornish X
Why am I spolied: When Clucky was a baby he slept in the bathroom snuggled inside of a heating pad. If we took out the heating pad he would chirp until we brought it back. It didn't have to be on, he just wanted to crawl inside and snuggle. He slept on my husbands chest and would snuggle close to our neck when we held him. He would follow me all over the house and when he was outside I would call him and he would come running to me. He sleeps in the house when it's cold and we feed him fresh vegetables and other healthy treats. He also likes to have baths (since he gets so dirty).
