The plumbers I worked with would say the three thing you had to know was
a) Cold is on the right.

This is what we found when we redid our bathroom. The original plumbing had the hot and cold run incorrectly, leading to that pretzel.

Someone lent me a book that I felt I had to read because I'd asked to borrow it. I told someone else, "The first 489 pages kind of dragged, but after that, I had to finish it!"
"How long was the book?" she asked.
