BYC's Software Conversion - Discussion & Information

View attachment 822622 I made my browser smaller..not full screen on accident just now while moving the open windows around and look what I discovered...
By making the browser smaller it changes the layout...duh...
This MAY be my friends problem/solution...not sure just yet.
Browser smaller does change the layout as shown. PC laptop chrome

I'm going to run to the local public library...see what operating system their computers use (I know it is to Safari--what I am use to) and try a few things on it..to see how things "look" on a different computer.

Boy it felt so weird to me sitting in front of a "Windows" computer...I forgot how different it looked.

When I first opened the internet explorer (they operate on windows 7) and logged into BYC the screen looked like this: Notice the BROWN Navigation buttons.

I changed the view to Maximize the window..notice it wasn't maximized (well in my mind it wasn't..it didn't cover the whole screen) Notice how the BROWN buttons changed?

So in continuing to play around I moved the mouse to the edge of the window and changed the size both a little bit bigger and a little bit smaller to see how the BROWN buttons changed...(in this last pic I am just trying to show the little arrow on the edge of the window..how I changed the size, but clicking it and dragging it.

So the conclusion of my investigation project here is the BROWN buttons do change, as far as what one would see, depending on the size of the actual window your viewing it on.
But..this is not the same exact version of browser or windows that I was trying to figure out something about so I wasted a few bucks in gas. No biggy.

I posted JUST IN CASE...for others.

My Friend who was having the problem not being able to see all the buttons....
Had the settings for the browser enlarged.....when reduced back down to 100%..all brown buttons re appeared!

It used to be that everyone would browse the web using a desktop computer and later laptops. Formatting for the relatively narrow range of screen sizes was fairly easy then. Now with phones, tablets, etc, there is a wide range of screen sizes to deal with. What looks good on your desktop often won't work on smaller screens. Consequently, web sites have been slowly adjusting to more intelligently reformat based on your browser and screen size. This was one of the changes included with the recent upgrade.

Edit: Post #1000! :yesss:
