Ok so I gotta ask are any of y'all into meat birds? Also who sells chicks before I buy from a hatchery. Anyone gonna have hicks forsale in the CSRA this spring?

I didn't know this:
The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) is a 13-county region in the U.S. state of Georgia, and is also considered to include five to eight counties in South Carolina. The term was coined in 1950 by C.C. McCollum, the winner of a $250 contest held by The Augusta Chronicle to generate the best name for the area. Today the acronym is so commonly used that the full name is not known to all residents. The region is located on and named after the Savannah River, which forms the border between the two states. The largest cities within the CSRA are Augusta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina.
As of the 2010 American Community Survey from the U.S. Census Bureau, the CSRA had a total population of 709,433, and the six-county Augusta-Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area (at the center of the CSRA) had a population of 543,738, making it the second largest in the State of Georgia.

Only sure fire thing I know that works against ants are Guineas! Although I don't have any myself, just what I know from BYC. I know I put down pine shavings at the beginning of summer to dry up the floor to get rid of a bad fly problem. Worked like a charm!

I know that a good sprinkling of DE works. Only problem is you cannot keep it on the sides of things. They will find a way around.

I know WestKnollAmy in upstate South Carolina had a random Guinea come to her yard and would hang out with the chickens, until she got a second one, and now those two stay pairded up and off in their own world from what i gather from her.

P.S. I'm thinking of getting rid of my RIR flock to spend more time on my Delawares and BLRW. Anyone interested? PM me if so. I have 6 hens (6mos-1yr), 1 roo (8mos-1yr), and 4 Gold Comet hens (1 yr old). Would like $10 per hen, I'll give the roo for free if you buy all.
