I dont like the bobwhites but if i find some i will let you know. Wow that guy was rude. I went to a swap meet down there and there button quail were going for $15 a pair and i could get them for $5 each around here. It seems like everything is more expensive in SD, lol

Psittizen Shikkin, I know exactly were orovillie is. I lived in Red Bluff for 5 years. My mom is still up there and i go visit alot, lol

Hello CA chicken owners. I live in Los Angeles and was wondering how hot can our chickens get? Mine live in a small shaded coop with plenty of water but I worry while I'm at work that they'll get too hot. I let them out as soon as I get home and they play/lay in the shaded dirt part of the yard. Anything I can do to help keep them cooler while I'm at work? Here's a picture of my coop.

Try freezing water in soda bottles and sticking a few of those in the coop with them when you leave in the morning. Also you could also hook up a little mister. I even have a fan in my coop that i turn on whenever it gets over 90 degrees.
