Yup, and besides getting together on August 1st, this thread means I get to talk to all the CA chicken people. Nice to meet cha!

ETA - I've been reading Schultz' thread for the midwest Chickenstock, also on Aug 1st. OMGoodness! Have you seen all the people going to that thing? There's some serious logistical planning going on. I think it's good we are starting small. I'm going to pick her brain about the things that went right/wrong for their gigantic shindig. At this stage of the game, small=manageable.

What a great idea. I would soooo love to come but my husband already thinks I'm loopy (even though he loves the chickens and made an awesome coop). I will be there in mind and soul.

Ooh, I'm not giving up on you yet! I think your husband would think you are less loopy if he could meet all us NORMAL chicken lovers! Really, it's going to be a fun afternoon. We'll be having a NORMALly good time, except for some chicken talk, maybe some chicken pics, and a chicken t-shirt or two. Really, NORMAL!

Get your husband to come tell us about your coop. Bring some pics. Bring some lawn chairs. Sit a spell. (Oh, I think that's a southern thing.) Meet Nifty! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Okay, that might be an exaggeration. Nifty will probably come again.

Oh thank you for begging it makes me feel better. Will see what can be done. I just really really like the sense of community and enthusiasm everyone has about chickens. I'm so thankful I stumbled into this.
 
Hi all! This sounds like so much fun, and since we're about 5 minutes away from Larkey Park, we'll definitely be there ... well at least my son (who is Nifty's daughter's classmate) and I will be there (I totally just bribed him with bocce ball and horseshoes, thanks for that!). DH & DS will be working on the run for our newly completed coop (yay!!)
