cabin fever...

6 inches of rain so far this month and we are just setting on our lumber waiting for a break so we can start building our coop. We are just sitting around - drawing and redrawing our plans and working out the kinks...

So, today I picked up a certain furniture & housewares catalog that was laying around and started flipping through the pages- to my surprise, instead of furniture, I was seeing nestboxes, ramps, components for coops....! I'm obsessed! need help!

So, I took it a step farther to see if anyone else had the same affliction and was doing the same thing with the same catalog and viola! This is pretty nice:

With some 1/4 inch hardware cloth instead of whatever that green stuff was, and some padlocks and something to prevent digging under, it would be great. Also, with a few coats of outdoor deck stain.

It looks solid to me

but i'm not sure about the roof- doesnt it look a little like ... a mattress? I wonder what is it made of?
