Hello all,
We are shopping for a cabinet incubator because managing 6+ of the Farm Innovators tabletop incubators at a time is becoming quite cumbersome and we are out of capacity with 6, so before adding more Small incubators we think its time to upgrade big.
We want a redundant setup, meaning 2 cabinets, using one as an incubator and the other as a hatcher. Having 2 also allows a backup if one fails so they both need to be the same or similar model so the treys interchange. Trey design is important too.
Our research so far is limited to the under $1,800 price range cabinets holding no more than 550 eggs or so with fully automatic turning and humidity control.
Here is the main ones we found:
-GFQ Sportsman 1500 series http://www.gqfmfg.com/
-Dickeys http://dickeyincubators.com/
-Brinsea Ova Easy Series (around 5 models) http://www.brinsea.com/
-Surehatch http://www.surehatch.com/
-Rite Farms Pro Series (5 Sizes) http://ritefarm.com/index.html
-GFQ Sportsman Seems like the front runner in all the reviews and the best value for the money. Reviews claim it to be the best in automatic humidity control. For us the Con is simply the side control and latch layout. Just cannot get over the side controls and latches.
-Dickeys is a custom version of the Sportsman, good reviews found, wood vs. Plastic.
-Brinsea Ova Easy Series (around 5 models) They are very proud of their incubators. UK based company, they are the right layout and design. Con for me is the pricing and negative reviews on the add on humidity system.
-Surehatch
A South Africa Based company. Not much found on them, would be a hard purchase if unable to find reviews on them. They look ok, likely expensive to ship one.
-Rite Farms Pro Series
We like the Design and functions of the Rite Farm Pro Series, specifically the layout, ease of use, and all front control. Hands down these are our favorite so far.
The only reviews I can find are a fantastic series of reviews by the youtuber The 10 Acre Woods
The only site I can find to sell them is the company called Coopnmore http://www.coopsnmore.com. This Minnesota company claims to be a manufacture of Rite Farm Products. I am going to send them an email and ask more questions about the cabinet incubators. Their site says they build them one at a time as the are ordered. I believe they import them from China in bulk then re-manufacture them for the NA power specifications. A bad experience with the plastic table top version are what scares me about Rite Farm Products in general.
Please if anyone has experience with or knows of further reviews of Rite Farms Please share. Also if there are any other brands to check out that would compare to the Rite Farms Pro series it would be appreciated.
Thanks
