I just ordered 15 buff orp. chicks last night. They called me this morning and told me they be shipped out first thing Monday and I should get them by Wednesday.

Has anyone ordered from them?

What did you think?

What are some good tips to get them going good when I get them?

Thanks!

Just have the brooder warm and ready. I usually dip their beaks in the water tray so that they know where it is. Over time, I have learned that if you dip the 1st couple, then the rest follow suit.

That's as good a start as anything.

I'm sure others have some tips that they will offer too.

And congrats on your peeps!

be sure the brooder is up to temp BEFORE you put them in there, dip their beaks, and watch 'em scurry!

Cackle is great they sent me 4 extras almost 10 weeks ago now and all 104 came healthy and have all lived so far!

ive ordered from them, all my 25 chicks arrived great, only lost 2 or 3 due to the stress of the trip. Good luck! keep us updated!!!!

I had a great experience with them. My chicks arrived healthy and happy and all 18 are doing marvelously -- no losses. Good luck!

I've had a number of chicks that came from Cackle. All Grade A birds.

The BO I had from them was just wonderful, large and fluffy, loved to be held and big brown eggs.

I have had a good experience with Cackle, no problem! Good to deal with.
Ordered two batches this spring and the one batch of 17 no losses, the other batch lost two of the babies.

But that's not too bad.

I think that you have gotten all good tips to get your chicks off to a healthy start.

The other things that I did for my chicks was to use the GroGel and the Quik Chik in their water for a few days.

Good luck with your babies!
