Cackle Hatchery mystery box

We got a hatchery surprise box from Cackle yesterday. 44 fowl. 3 pekin ducklings, 2 bourbon red(?) Turkey poults. The rest a fabulous mix of chicks. Even a lavender ameracauna. Just set up several brooders, and have appropriate adult housing for them and it will be fine. We have or will have in a couple days a duck brooder(low protein feed and brewers yeast), a turkey and meat chicken brooder(high protein feed), an aggresive chicks brooder, a docile/small chicks brooder(sent a mix of size chickens), and we may end up needing to split up more chicks.

So far we absolutely would recommend the hatchery surprise box, so much fun and so many cute fuzzlings! This box was a christmas gift from my mom, but we have more coming from Cackle in june that we did order: another surprise box, 3 EE pullets, 6 guinea keets, 6 goslings of 2 breeds, a trio of sweedish ducks.. I think that's it? But to be honest I don't remember, we placed the order in December!

No losses so far, but one small chick is a bit off, we are rooting for him tho.

Omg you just sold me on this. I have to do it now. Did you pick the date you wanted them to send it?

Unfortunately, no. They send them as soon as they are able to have all of the birds you order ready to go all at once. Since my mom only ordered the hatchery surprise box, they were able to put that together sooner than the order we placed(guineas and I think one of the breeds of geese don't "come into season" until Junish, so that order had to wait till then to ship).

I am OK with the wait, though. Was totally worth it for these guys, and we are eagerly looking forward to the other order, which was placed as the Christmas gift my future husband and I gave each other(surprise box is for both of us, plus we each picked extra chicks we wanted: I chose to get a trio each of 2 goose breeds since I *love* ducks, and have never had geese. He chose EE pullets and swedish ducks. And we got 6 guinea keets to eat ticks etc).

But since it is chick season already, I bet your wait wont be anywhere near as long as ours if you get only a surprise box.

I got three patridge EE, 2 Egyptian fayoumis, three polish top hats 2 white , one black top, golden campine, cucko marans, salmon favorelle, and more I can’t remember. I only got 15.
I'm really hoping I get some top hatters. My mama is praying for lavender orpingtons. I have already told my husband if the box doesn't have any Lavender's in it I'm going to buy some for her, she really really wants some.
