Cackle Hatchery Problems?

This is GREAT! Thank you so much

Personally, I never email a hatchery. Always call, then you'll be talking to a person who wont just give you a two word sentence since it's a little harder to do that over the phone. If they do give you a two word sentence over the phone, call again and again. Never give up, eventually they'll want to answer all your questions just so you'll stop calling. I've never had unhealthy chicks from Cackle, of course I haven't ordered from them in awhile but I'm sure their chicks are as healthy as ever.

I ordered from them many years ago and I didn't have any problems. I didn't have any trouble placing the order and my order was shipped on time and was received. I would definitely order from them again.

I received a call at 5:30 this morning that my chicks were in! I ordered 56 (50 delaware pullets, 4 Roos, and 2 RIR Roos. I received 58 chicks ( 2 extra pullets) all were healthy and chirping. I have been very pleased with Cackle! As soon as I put them in a brooder they ran around and drank a little water. Good luck!

with the amount of hatcheries out there why do you jump through hoops to do business with a company that could really care less about you. They are in the business of selling chicks to people who have questions about their birds. It is the duty of the supplier to answer the questions you have. With such bad customer service I think that ordering from another hatchery that has a little better customer service is the way to go. In the retail industry customer service is huge. It's amazing how some people will ignore being treated poorly just to save a few dollars. We work dang hard for our money and should be treated with respect and care when we choose a place to spend it. Just my two cents, feel free to ignore me if you want.

I've only ordered from Cackle and never had any problems! I have always ordered by phone, and the last time I ordered I decided to do it by way of their website. I had some trouble figuring shipping and decided to call. When I called I told her I was ordering online and she said I would have to wait 10 days for a shipping date - but if I ordered by phone I would have my date right then. I ordered that day and my chicks (100 of them) arrrived 4 days later! As far as substitutions go, you have to specify when you call that you do not want them!

They kept calling me, but I have limited access to the phone during the day. I emailed them a response to their questions, never heard back from them, but they charged my card for my order. I spent 20 minutes last week trying to call them. Once I got through to them I was satisfied with their response. The lady apologized profusely for not sending my a ship confirmation and it was in my inbox before we got off the phone. On the other hand I made my order in FEBRUARY and will not get my chickens until MAY 13th. Half the order was for a student's family and they were ticked off and I had to refund their money. Now I have 25 RIR coming that I can't keep. But the family that canceled has not been able to find 25 RIR sooner and at a similar price, so they may eat crow and buy them from me yet! We had a terrible late March freeze that did make me glad the chicks did not come in as planned. I am excited for mine and will order from them again despite the delays. They are overwhelmed with business and can't hire and train enough temp. help to handle it all. I do think they need a young and internet savvy person to just deal with internet orders and emails.
