Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

My order shipped late Wed evening, but it states on the USPS website its not expected to arrive until Saturday! Last update was Kansas City last night at 11pm. I've never had chicks in the mail for that length of time.

U.S. Mail doesn't update there stuff as they should. I'm confident they will be there sooner. chin up

Mine says the same thing !! I hope I get them tomorrow. Sometimes they update it at night. It's nerve wracking. Sleepless nights until they get here.

Mine arrived Friday. I did have 2 DOA and one of the ducklings I got also died. He was pretty weak and wouldn't drink well. Should I let Cackle know about those three? I know they don't promise a certain number in the box, but it seems like they should know. Pics will follow .

They say they guarantee 40 birds, though they usually send quite a few more than that. How many do you have left?

I received 44 chicks and 3 ducklings. Another duckling died as well. He was also weaker, but was drinking when I last saw him.

I would document everything (feed, water & temperature of brooder, etc.) and if anymore die, call Monday morning. Right now, you are still in the 40 chick range.

Also feed the ducks starter grower and do not give them medicated feed. Also put them in a separate brooder. I got 3 also and they are still doing good but I keep them separate. I did lose 3 chicks though but I am still ahead.

I ordered a few weeks ago. Earliest ship date was may 27th. Pure torture waiting that long! Hoping to get a goose and a few ducklings in there! Can't wait!

That's my ship date too!!! We are on pins a needles together!
