Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

I am so sad! We ordered our box in March and the ship date was yesterday. My 3 little boys and I have been counting down the days until it gets here. Yesterday came and went without a tracking number and when I called today, they said it didn't ship and was being moved to a new ship date but she couldn't tell me when yet. She said they would call me and let me know. I am not looking forward to the disappointed faces I will see when my boys get off the school bus asking if the chicks are here yet. I hope it ships soon. :he :hit

I ordered mine in April! This could be disasterus if they are that far behind on orders

She said they just didn't have enough chicks hatched to fill an order. She said mine would be first in line to be shipped on the next availible ship date. I know that should make me feel better but it worries me that no one called me to let me know or sent me an email. This is the first year we have ordered from Cackle.

Cackles mystery assortment is very very popular. They are known for good very good assortments. So naturally this does happen. I'm sorry to say you got to wait it out for something good!!

I have been waiting....patiently .... For two months now. Im just feeling frustrated that there was no communication to let me know my order was not shipped and why it didn't ship. I guess i will wait to hear from them but if they say it is going to be another month, I will probably just cancel my order. I hope everything works out. We were very excited about ordering this.

That's understandable. Hopefully you can wait it out. I know it's frustrating but it's well worth it. I've never been disappointed. And I've waited 3 months before

I'm so sorry to hear about the delay. I would be very disappointed too. One thing to remember is that this special is for the leftovers. The eggs that hatched which weren't sold. In my opinion, they should have at least sent you an email stating that the shipment was delayed and another ship date would be arranged.

I had a month wait when I ordered in Feb., and I would imagine May is a prime ordering time. If I can order again next year, I would like one of the last shipments because of the high chance of the order being heavy in layers and the possibility of guineas.

Hang in there. I bet that it will be worth the wait. Mine sure was. I still have all of mine and will post an update when I am certain of breeds and sex. I have a few game birds that I don't know what they are. I hope to give an exact ratio of cocks to pullets.

Well, I just got a call from tge hatchery and they have rescheduled my order for Monday May 11th. That is very quick so I am happy. My son is having dental surgery on the day the shipment should arrive but I will get someone to pick them up for me. I will post pictures when i receive it.

I'm glad to hear your order will be shipped soon! There is a chance that they did not know the box wasn't going to ship until the end of that very day, after they filled all the other boxes.
Take it as a good sign that they want to send you a good box--not a box of leftover cockerels--which I assume they certainly had. The Surprise box is so much fun, and such a good deal for the variety of birds you get, that I'm sure you'll find it's worth the wait.

The past 3 years I've gotten this assortment twice a year. Every single box I wind up with a ratio of 10 rooster and usually 30-35 pullets. It never disappoints. I've requested birds as well and have always had them honor it.
