Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

I buy from the local feed store... and all the babies come from Cackle.... The store is only 2-3 hours from me.... In Lebanon. All my chickens I have right now came from them! Love Cackle!!!

She said about 40 birds!

my 92 year old grandmother lives with us . Sometimes I will bring one of the nicer chickens in the house and let her hold it. You've never heard such oohing and ahhing in your life. And she does the baby talk to them too!! LOL

I can't wait ...my new chix are being shipped on the 18th... I've never used Cackle before so it sounds like they are a good hatchery. I'll keep you up on what happens. I want the surprise too, but I thought I would first see how they handle my meat chix order. If they are healthy which most of the pics I've seen from postings, they will always get my business.

We have gotten 3 orders from Cackle this year and WOW!

2 of them were the surprise specials - careful, this is addictive!

Both surprise specials had 2 ducks, one had 2 turkeys (BBR whites) and then the rest were a mix of chicks. The chicks were a great assortment and we got more pullets than roos! We got a couple polish, some cochins, and a great assortment of layers too.

Like they say, no guarantee, but they are not just throwing roos in the box, they are taking the time to make it a nice assortment!

All three orders have been very healthy, Cackle even put a little mound of Gro-gel in the box with the babies! They all arrived alive ALL 3 times!

We ordered a duck assortment to arrive next week!

OK, I did it. I just ordered the Cackle Hatchery Suprise online. My DH is going to have a heart attack

, but after reading your posts I just can't control myself. What fun, and what a great assortment folks seem to be receiving. I've been hatching shipped eggs from breeders for the last year, even bought a GQF 1502 cabinet bator and hatcher. But I'm kind of burned out on hatching shipped eggs and unless you hatch your own - and show your birds - it's not nearly as cost effective as Cackle's suprise assortment of chicks. I think I'll sell my 1502, and just keep my Hovabator for hatching my own eggs. Just thinking outloud here...coming up with a good speech for my DH when the chicks show up
