Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

Not to worry, lizzy, I'm all over this thread every day. :p

I got to thinking, about how one of the guys at the slaughterhouse will buy 5 pullets from me when I get my Surprise box, and I met a young woman at the store Sunday (the bakery turns out OMG so good pastries on the weekends) who wants some as well, and these are straight runs and I really should double the order if not triple it!!!

So I called and the orders placed online take a week to show up in their computer system. I was told to call when the confirmation message comes through to see about adding another box. Or two. I am all a-dither!

Anyone care to speculate on the contents? Anyone with a recent shipment of just chicks got a report to compare weights?

I'm biting my nails here.

The suspense is killing me!

Hoping for a couple polish and silkies and Easter eggers...and maybe Marans lol
I think it would be neat to try some silkies also. I've heard they're friendly little birds. Ideally, though, I'd prefer the birds that are good egg layers. I'm hoping for some waterfowl in my box!

When does the tracking say your box should arrive? Depending on how long shipping takes, I've still got about 2 weeks from yesterday or today to wait!

Ahh! Looking forward to pictures littlekatzz!

I got some Silkies in the surprise box a couple years ago. I kept them because I wanted broodies. They were, without a doubt, the dumbest chickens I have ever had to deal with. They free-ranged, and here is what I had written on instructions for when I wasn't home to lock up animals, "Silkies--chase them around while yelling at them -lock them in something." I assume because they couldn't see, those birds never learned to go into the coop, and they would run away from everything and try to roost in the dumbest places. They were potentially worse than the heritage turkeys--however they were at least small and quiet. Now I just sell any that come in the surprise box.

I agree I have 4 Silkies they are idiots the pen I bought for them had a ramp to the coop area and they were to dumb to use it, mine are also loud and annoying they chirp 24/7 day or night
