Cackle?

I'm a bit excited honestly for when people loose interest in my area because by then the birds will be older and I won't need to brood them and they might be cheaper because people just want to get rid of them.

Obviously I don't want them neglected, but where I am, it's a good chance I can find 5 dollar birds close to laying ad opposed to the normal 30 dollar birds

Like hoarding, egg production is a big thing right now and our feed store sells out immediatly. There's even a demand for roosters because people want to hatch eggs.
Let's just hope all these birds get to real homes and not neglected when people start to relax from survival mode and lose interest.
This is literally my exact thought... How many of these chickens are going to be neglected, rehomed or whatever happens to them, when people realize chickens take work, eggs take time, and sometimes chickens take breaks from laying.

With the pandemic, a lot of places are sold out and some like Cackle and Myshire dont feel comfortabke preordering when they have absolutely nothing tonsell at the present. Ordinarily for cackle if something happened and your Yokohamas you ordered didn't hatch, they could replace it with another similar breed or another breed that cost the same, but they can't even do that now because they don't have any

Not to mention all the dogs and cats adopted, who also take effort and $$$, even after those first few months. We can hope, anyway.

Exactly... I have 3 horses, 3 large dogs, 4 cats, like 30+ chickens. My feed bill is up there. Plus vetting. Basic needs. All that cost a lot of time, devotion and money.

Awesome! Could you post pics of the nuggets?

Happily! 😁
My royal plum turkeys. I ordered two and was sent three. Unfortunately they didn’t have my black Spanish turkeys.

Im really bummed. That adorable gray Easter Egger on the left has a crossbeak:/ It was noticeable till yesterday. She’s my daughters favorite of our new chicks and it made her sad to know it won’t be able to eat as many treats as the rest of the chickens. This will be our second chicken with a cross beak.
Next are guineas. I ordered royal purple, lavender, and white. 5 of each and was sent 6 of each. Sadly over the first three nights I lost one each night. Last night was the first night I haven’t lost any. They all looked perfect. Nothing seemingly wrong with them. I’m hoping the rest will do well now.
