Cackling Geese OMG! Im so excited!

I contacted the breeder and asked him about it and he said he forgot to send one. He also said that there is a chance that anyone with bahama pintails will need one because they sometimes migrate from the bahamas to the southern US. Hmm, now that I have the migratory bird permit for them that gets my mind going. Now I could get other migratory species like tree/whistling ducks and north american pintails...

It was funny, there are ducks and geese that fly over our place all the time in the spring and fall and of course they make noise Well we have call ducks and they 'talk' to the mallards as they fly over. Now that I have the cacklers they call to the canadas. We have actually had canadas get pretty close to the pen, it suprised me.
Peachick do you have any other 'exotic' species or do you just have domestics and the cacklers?

I have peafowl and pheasants, chickens, a few swedish ducks, and sebastopol, geese...... now the cackling geese. Im not really too interested in getting into the exotic waterfowl. but when I saw these guys I had to have them ;-)

When I let the sebastopols out this morning the cackling geese were not too happy, and seemend to want to run with them... hearing them call was pretty cool.

Cool. My siblings have domestic ducks, they are kinda boring so I have the exotics. I love the noises they make. My chiloe widgeons make a noise like when squirells growl, its so funny. I was going to ask for pics then I saw your flickr album. Nice birds.

Beautiful birds! I love the wild ducks and geese. They are so much cleaner and make neat noises and are really colorful. I need to get some pictures of my birds for you to see.

Thats another reason why I like the exotics, they dont eat that much. I think I feed the group a coffee can of feed every 2-3 days. They dont make that much noise and when they do it sounds cool. Their pool doesnt get nasty every day like the domestics and they dont stink.
