No, they get more speed with the higher they go. My pen is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet high and none have broken their necks...I even have a few that fly over the 'wall' that divides the inside from the outside

My cages are all 2 feet high. For bobwhites that jump a lot I use trampoline netting or screen strung across the roof so they won't get hurt. If your coturnix do this a lot that might help.

No worry with the coturnix, other quail yes....


Don't worry to much about the coturnix.........like i like to say if you can grow weeds in a garden ,you can raise coturnix quail.

I would like to raise a few quail to put in the freezer . i have never raised any quail but have had chickens most of my life. I would like to know if quail are like chickens in laying eggs for long periods of time or do they just lay when its time to brood and then just lay enough to sit.. thanks

Well first off, coturnix don't go broody hardly at all. They lay good, and need a good GBS.
