I like Edward...but I also like Jasper(but perhaps to common)..I like sprout its cute..
Perhaps I'll just have to get to know him..hopefully it will just come to me!
it will come to you!!! I do like the name puck that was suggested (although be sure to say it plainly, as I have a friend with a fish named Pucker) lol
I am so glad you are getting him and will get him started on a good diet! When I have had rescue birds with problems with beaks, I have found scrambled eggs, vegetables, cooked rice, cooked navy beans, birdie bread made with cornmeal and oatmeal are all excellent choices to help them get the nutrition they need until the beaks can get trimmed into decent shape. Of course mine love cooked meals all the time and they do get breakfast cooked for them in the morning before I go to work. Lol, I take better care of them than I do my poor DH - he has to fix his own breakfast!
Good Luck and thank you for giving him a new home!
BTW, a name will come to you once you get him home and can see how he acts!
We decided to call him Fawkes(keeping with our HArry Potter theme). He is an absolute doll. I am starting him on moist pellets tomorrow(slowly transitioning him). He will need to get used to a soft diet of moist pellets and slightly steamed veggies(as he will need to be on it during his monthly beak trims).
He is such a caracter..I LOVE my tiel's but this guy is so animated!
You know we need more photos of him! Dont get scared if you walk in and he is lying upside down in his cage asleep! they look dead, but love to sleep in that position! Here is a link to the house that Buddy has and LOVES, I need to order him a new one as he has loved his to death over the years lol

Thanks for the heads up! That would have terrified me! I have alot to learn yet. He hasn't been handled in 3 months but still seems interested. He will come up to my hand and gentely explore it will his beak but if I attempt to get him to step up or touch him he backs away..not terrified but unsure...So I think thats a good sign..and hopefully he will come to a point where he enjoys being handled.
He does this adorable little "bop" where he pops his head up and down really fast...not sure what that means but I hope its a good thing..its adorable!
Oh and I will take more pics tomorrow! I want some really good before pics so that I can email(yes I kept the email of his last owners for this very reason) before shots and after(once he gets the appropriate care and has his beak reshaped...it will never be perfect but should with monthly trims for the next little bit look much better and be more functional for him!) to his old owners!
I really love birds. All birds. Have since I was a kid. I really want an African Grey, but they need alot of attention so I need to save that dream for retirement. I prefer to give my animals what they need and not get them to satisfy my wants.
