You know we need more photos of him! Dont get scared if you walk in and he is lying upside down in his cage asleep! they look dead, but love to sleep in that position! Here is a link to the house that Buddy has and LOVES, I need to order him a new one as he has loved his to death over the years lol

Thanks for the heads up! That would have terrified me! I have alot to learn yet. He hasn't been handled in 3 months but still seems interested. He will come up to my hand and gentely explore it will his beak but if I attempt to get him to step up or touch him he backs away..not terrified but unsure...So I think thats a good sign..and hopefully he will come to a point where he enjoys being handled.

He does this adorable little "bop" where he pops his head up and down really fast...not sure what that means but I hope its a good thing..its adorable!

Buddy does the head bop dance also. With him its when he is happy so hopefully its the same way with yours too!!

Here is a photo of Buddy (i need to take better ones but this one is already on photobucket) lol

He is beautiful! I've never looked all that closely at a green cheek..I can't believe the beautiful colors they have! From the pretty re belly and tails to Blue wings and wow! He is gorgeous!

Hi there! No he hasn't had his beak trimmed yet. I had an appointment booked for next wednesday but may need to reschedule it for the following week. It is an hour and a half drive(one way) so it takes a bit of planning to make it work but we are committed to getting him in the best shape we can be.

He is a nasty little turd! Takes every opportunity he gets to bite(and bite hard). We don't push the handling with him...we have plenty of time to build a relationship. So when he does bite, it is not from forced handling he'll try to sneak up on you and bite and twist his little head like he is trying to tear a chunk out of your finger...

That being said, we still really like him. I knew with his background this could be an issue(an unhandled handfed bird can often become problem biters from lack of handling, as they lack any fear of hands).. I don't have to handle him to enjoy his great personality and funny quirks. He seems to have taken to me more than anybody else in the family. He will "fly"(clipped wings) off his cage and follow me from room to room...walking behind me like a puppy on the floor. He rarely attempts to bite me but hates my DH.

All and all it is going well and I am falling in love with him, I still love my tiels but this little conure is so much more animated. He;s alot of fun to watch and makes the cutest sound. He also is not that loud. My tiels can be louder!

Anyways I will update with more photos soon!

Thanks for checking in on him!

Good to hear how he is doing! Some of my conures can be little stinkers with the biting - they will look you in the eye to see what kind of a reaction they will get...it's hard to get really mad at them because they can be such little love-bugs at other times. He might just be testing you to see if you will still "love" him and will keep him. They can get so used to being unloved that they build up a tough little act to test your dedication to them. Since he is following you around it sounds like you are on the right path to earning his trust! I'll keep checking back in to see how he is doing! Please post pix!
